Health Emergency Initiative Appoints New Board of Trustees Member

The Health Emergency Initiative, HEI has announced the appointment of Mrs. Evi Ifekwe to its esteemed Board of Trustees. This significant decision was agreed upon during the Board’s meeting on January 10, 2025, following a recommendation by the Ethics and Governance Committee.

Mrs. Ifekwe is a seasoned technocrat with an impressive 35-year track record of corporate excellence. Her career began at Afribank (now Polaris Bank), where she demonstrated exceptional leadership as Training Manager. She later joined TotalEnergies E&P as an HR Team Lead and achieved remarkable milestones, culminating in her role as Executive General Manager.

In February 2023, she assumed the position of Executive Director of Country and People’s Services, while also serving as the Board Chairman of TotalEnergies CPFA. After an illustrious career, Mrs. Ifekwe retired in August 2024, leaving behind a legacy of distinction. Currently, she serves as a Non-Executive Director at FIN Insurance, providing strategic governance and oversight.

Mrs. Ifekwe’s longstanding relationship with HEI began as a dedicated volunteer, championing advocacy initiatives and supporting vital organizational efforts. Her expertise in strategy, corporate governance, and ethics will undoubtedly enhance HEI’s mission of delivering lifesaving health interventions and transforming lives.

The Board of Trustees and the entire HEI team while warmly welcoming Mrs. Evi Ifekwe, expressed confidence in her ability to drive impactful change and elevate the organization’s vision to new heights.
