Fidelity Bank’s FundHer Supports Akara Café’s Expansion into Premium Abuja Market

Akara Café has expanded its business with the launch of Pavillon, a premium sub-brand in Abuja, following financing support from Fidelity Bank’s FundHer programme.

Martha Essienanwan E., writing about the business’s expansion, said the funding helped the company cover some of the costs of developing the new venture while preserving working capital for Akara Café’s existing operations.

She explained that the expansion required balancing investment in the premium concept with the resources needed to sustain day-to-day business activities.

“Access to financing is not simply about receiving funds. It is about having the financial room to make strategic decisions, pursue opportunities and continue building without unnecessarily putting pressure on existing operations,” she said.

Essienanwan also credited the support received during the financing process, particularly from the company’s account manager, Racheal, whose responsiveness and guidance helped make the process easier.

Pavillon represents a new phase for Akara Café, providing a premium expression of the brand and an opportunity to reach customers through a new business concept.

According to Essienanwan, the launch reflects the company’s ambition to build on its existing operations and explore new opportunities for growth.

She said access to financing at the right time helped the business move from planning to establishing the new outlet, while maintaining the resources required to keep its existing operations running.

The business expressed appreciation to Fidelity Bank for supporting its expansion through FundHer, adding that its focus remained on growing the Akara Café brand, creating memorable customer experiences and exploring further opportunities.
