Entrepreneurs in Lagos are set to examine strategies for improving business competitiveness and achieving sustainable growth amid challenges around access to finance, market expansion, innovation and digital transformation.
The issues will take centre stage at Fidelity Bank Plc’s Lagos Quarterly Business Forum, themed “Built to Compete: Positioning Lagos Businesses for Sustainable Growth.”
The forum is expected to bring together entrepreneurs, industry experts and other stakeholders to discuss practical approaches to strengthening businesses within Lagos’ competitive business environment.
Divisional Head, SME Banking, Fidelity Bank Plc, Ugochi E. Osinigwe, said businesses require more than capital to remain competitive, stressing the importance of knowledge, structure, networks and effective growth strategies.
“Businesses need more than capital to thrive. They require knowledge, structure, networks and the right strategies to compete and grow sustainably,” she said.
Osinigwe said the forum would provide an opportunity for the bank to engage directly with entrepreneurs, understand their needs and facilitate the exchange of practical business insights.
Discussions at the forum will focus on competitiveness, access to finance, market expansion, innovation, digital transformation and sustainable growth.
The engagement builds on Fidelity Bank’s SME-focused initiatives, including masterclasses and advisory programmes covering pricing, digital growth, business structure, trade and market expansion.
The Quarterly Business Forum serves as a platform connecting entrepreneurs, business leaders, policymakers and industry experts on issues affecting business growth, innovation and sustainability.
Through the initiative, the bank said it provides SMEs with financing, capacity building, advisory services and knowledge-sharing opportunities to strengthen their operations and expand their markets.
Fidelity Bank Plc serves more than 10 million customers through digital banking channels and 255 business offices in Nigeria, alongside its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
The bank has also received several industry recognitions, including the 2025 Development Bank of Nigeria Innovation Award for MSME support and awards for retail and SME banking, export and trade finance and innovation.
