The Olugbodi family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the passing of their matriarch, Grace Olabisi Olugbodi, fondly known as “Extraordinary Grace,” at the age of 83.
According to the family, she passed away on April 18, 2026, just one week after the burial of her husband of over 65 years, J.O. Olugbodi, who was laid to rest on April 11, 2026.
In a statement, the family described the late Olugbodi as a woman of deep faith, resilience, and compassion, who dedicated her life to raising her children and supporting many others within and beyond her immediate family.
“She lived a life of extraordinary grace, bringing up eight boys and one girl, and serving as a mother, sister, and friend to many,” the statement read.
The family noted that she was a pillar in her Christian community, remembered for her service, devotion, and unwavering commitment to her faith.
Her son, Tunji Olugbodi, an advertising and media executive, described her passing as both a moment of grief and gratitude.
“Though we mourn, we rejoice that she is now resting peacefully in the bosom of her Maker, reunited with her husband. She was indeed an extraordinary blessing,” he said.
Funeral arrangements released by the family indicate that a Service of Songs and Tributes will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, Osogbo, while the funeral service and interment will take place at First Baptist Church, Ara Kingdom, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family members.
