Continuing its mission to equip women with essential financial literacy skills and support for business success, Enterprise Growth & Opportunities, EGO, Foundation has made another impactful move.
The recently concluded SheEnabled project was executed in Rumuodara, Rivers State, where EGO Foundation’s dedicated team and volunteers engaged with the local business community.
In bustling markets such as Eliowhani, Eliozu, Oil Mill, Rumuokoro, Rumuodara, Mile 1, and Culvert, the team distributed and explained the locally translated pamphlet, “Bookkeeping Made Easy,” which is designed to help businesswomen accurately track their sales and inventory.
This initiative addresses the challenge many market women face due to the lack of proper record-keeping, which can hinder their ability to secure funding for business growth.
Over 1800 women participated in the in-house sessions conducted across Rumuodara. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of a business grant pitch by EGO Foundation, which provided beneficiaries the opportunity to win instant cash prizes and access business grants.
In partnership with Access Bank and Worden HCD, the discussions focused on the importance of good record-keeping practices, which are crucial for business women seeking to obtain grants and loans to expand their trade.
Market women leaders in Rumuodara, Rivers State, have praised the SheEnabled project for its positive impact on their community. One market leader stated, “This initiative is a crucial step toward better financial practices among our women, and we believe it will lead to significant improvements in their businesses.”
