Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Ibrahim Akinwunmi Mustafa, has led a conducted supportive supervision as State Government officially commenced its Outbreak Response (OBR) Campaign across the state.
The campaign, which kicked off in Agege Local Government Area, underscores the State Government’s proactive approach to maintaining high population immunity and safeguarding public health.
It targets all eligible children under the age of five, ensuring they receive life-saving vaccines while boosting disease surveillance and community awareness.
Dr. Mustafa was accompanied by the Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Abdulganiyu Obasa, and other senior officials from the Board and the Local Government.
“The Lagos State Government remains deeply committed to protecting the health of its citizens through continuous vaccination and rapid outbreak response,” Dr. Mustafa stated.
“Our supervisory visits are designed to ensure strict compliance with operational standards, verify vaccine availability, and evaluate the quality of service delivery across all facilities,” he added.
He commended the commitment of frontline health workers and urged parents and caregivers to take advantage of the ongoing exercise.
“We can only achieve success when every eligible child is reached. Immunization is safe, free, and remains the most effective protection against preventable diseases,” Dr. Mustafa emphasized.
In his remarks, Hon. Obasa reiterated the council’s commitment to supporting all state-led health initiatives, noting that active community involvement is essential for success.
“We are working hand-in-hand with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board to ensure that every household in Agege benefits from this vital intervention,” he said.
The LSPHCB noted that the OBR campaign will continue across all local government areas, with ongoing supervision by the Permanent Secretary and designated monitoring teams to ensure full coverage and achievement of set targets.
