The Ogun State Police Command has officially welcomed CP Bode Ojajuni as its 38th Commissioner of Police following his deployment by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu.
Born on 3rd April 1970 in Ondo State, CP Ojajuni joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP Course 19). Over a distinguished 30-year career, he has built a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and community-oriented policing, blending operational, investigative, administrative, and international policing experience.
Prior to this appointment, CP Ojajuni served as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL (Nigeria National Central Bureau), Lagos, where he led efforts to dismantle criminal syndicates and strengthened transnational crime-fighting operations.
He also held strategic positions, including Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ogun State, and Area Commander, Area “A” Command, Lion Building, Lagos, where he was recognized as Area Commander of the Year in 2021.
CP Ojajuni’s career spans numerous key appointments, such as Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Lagos State Command, Divisional Police Officer at Bode Thomas Division, Surulere, Lagos, and multiple Mobile Police Force (MOPOL) Squadron commands across Lagos, Delta, Ogun, and Oyo States.
He has also contributed at the federal level as Principal Staff Officer III to the Inspector-General of Police (2017–2019) and currently serves as Secretary to the Steering Committee on the Establishment of State Police, a report recently submitted to the Nigerian Senate.
Internationally, CP Ojajuni has represented Nigeria at the INTERPOL African Regional Conference (Cape Town, South Africa, 2025), the ECOWAS Security Summit in Lomé, Togo, and the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco (2025).
He has attended training and professional courses globally, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (USA), INTERPOL Instructors Development Course (Singapore), and specialised security programmes in Israel, UAE, and Morocco, reinforcing his expertise in transnational policing and intelligence coordination.
A decorated officer, CP Ojajuni has received multiple awards, including the African Nations Builders Award (Accra, Ghana, 2017) and recognitions from the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN). He is also a distinguished alumnus of Lagos State University and Ekiti State University, and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR).
