The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with key industry players following a courtesy visit to International Breweries Plc in Ilesa, Osun State.
The visit, led by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Wale Moses Adewole, took place on April 14, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance compliance with excise regulations and boost revenue generation.
Speaking during the engagement, Adewole stressed the importance of adhering to existing excise laws, noting that compliance remains critical to national revenue and economic stability. He reiterated the Command’s resolve to facilitate legitimate trade while ensuring strict enforcement of government fiscal policies.
The Area Controller also commended International Breweries Plc for its contributions to the economy, particularly in job creation and its role in improving the revenue profile of the Command. He urged the company to sustain its compliance standards and maintain transparency in its operations.
Responding, the plant manager, Emmanuel Onabanjo, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and impactful. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the Customs Service and pledged continued adherence to regulatory requirements.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to address operational challenges and explore ways to deepen cooperation.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command noted that it remains committed to stakeholder engagement, trade facilitation, and effective enforcement of fiscal policies in line with the mandate of the Service.
