Bigi Music Competition Spotlights Emerging Artistes at KWASU Soundcity OnTour

Emerging campus musicians at Kwara State University, KWASU received a platform to showcase their talents and compete for recognition as Soundcity OnTour brought its 2026 entertainment experience to the institution on October 31.

The Bigi Music Competition was a major highlight of the event, which featured aspiring artistes alongside established performers, creating opportunities for young musicians to gain visibility and experience performing before a live audience.

Adegbenro Abdulateef, popularly known as Yomide, emerged winner of the competition. Ige Samuel Oluwadamilare, known as Voice Boy, finished as first runner-up, while Amuda Abdulazeem, performing as Hazzi The Hollow, secured the second runner-up position.

The competition provided the performers with an opportunity to showcase their musical abilities, build confidence and connect with audiences beyond the university community.

The event also featured performances by Kinglex, Kodee, Slimcase, Marrz and Muyeez, drawing students into a blend of live music, entertainment and talent discovery.

Powered by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, Soundcity OnTour continues to engage university communities across Nigeria through campus entertainment and initiatives aimed at celebrating youth creativity.

Bigi Brand Manager, Biola Aransiola, said in an earlier statement on the tour that the initiative was designed to give young Nigerians opportunities to showcase their talents and pursue their musical ambitions.

The KWASU edition highlighted the potential of university campuses as platforms for emerging artistes to gain recognition and develop their musical careers.
