The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS and the Department of State Services, DSS have reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced collaboration and intelligence sharing aimed at strengthening security operations in Kogi State.
The renewed partnership was underscored during a courtesy visit by the Customs Area Controller of the Niger/Kogi Area Command, Muhammad Sani Umar, to the Kogi State Director of the DSS, Aliyu Bashir.
Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Umar stressed the importance of sustained cooperation between security agencies, noting that intelligence sharing and operational synergy remain critical in addressing emerging security threats and achieving their respective mandates.
He said closer collaboration would enhance efforts to monitor the movement of goods and persons across the state, thereby contributing to national security and economic protection.
In his response, Bashir commended the Customs Area Controller for the visit and reaffirmed the DSS’s commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service.
The DSS director emphasized the need for the collaboration to extend beyond leadership circles to operational personnel in the field, noting that effective security outcomes depend on seamless interaction and information exchange at all levels.
Both agencies pledged to deepen their partnership and strengthen security coordination across Kogi State, with a focus on improved intelligence sharing and more effective service delivery.
