The Lagos State Police Command has announced the passing of Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Khan Salihu, describing his death as a painful loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the security community.
DCP Khan Salihu, who until his demise served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Police Command, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Command, the late senior officer was remembered as a dedicated, disciplined and committed police officer who served the nation with exceptional professionalism, loyalty and integrity throughout his distinguished career.
The Command noted that DCP Khan was widely respected for his diligence, exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to duty, adding that his vast experience and administrative expertise contributed significantly to the effective management and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.
According to the statement, news of his death came as a profound shock to officers and men of the Command.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased officer.
“The Command mourns the loss of a highly dedicated, disciplined and committed senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty and integrity,” the statement said.
The Command further stated that DCP Khan Salihu would be remembered for his humility, dedication and selfless service to the nation, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire serving officers.
While praying for the repose of his soul, the Command urged his family to take solace in the remarkable life of service he lived and the positive impact he made within the Force.
“The Command prays that Almighty God grants his family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grants the departed officer eternal rest,” the statement added.
