ACG Babandede Charges Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Officers on Discipline, Integrity, Service Delivery The Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs (ACG) in charge of Zone A, Mohammed Babandede, has charged officers of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. Babandede gave the charge on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, during a strategic operational visit to the Command aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving overall service delivery. He was received by the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Lukman Adigun, who described the visit as timely and highly motivating for officers and men of the Command. In his welcome remarks, Deputy Comptroller Adigun expressed appreciation to the ACG for the visit, assuring him of the Command’s unwavering commitment to revenue generation, enforcement and trade facilitation in line with the vision and policy thrust of the Nigeria Customs Service. Addressing officers, ACG Babandede stressed the importance of discipline, dedication, integrity and teamwork, noting that these values remain critical to effective customs administration. He urged officers to remain vigilant, adhere strictly to operational procedures, adapt to evolving trade and border management challenges, and embrace innovation and accountability in all areas of operation. The ACG also reviewed the Command’s revenue profile, enforcement activities and stakeholder engagement efforts. He interacted with officers on the ground, observed daily operations and offered practical guidance on strengthening performance, improving service standards and sustaining public confidence in the Service. Deputy Comptroller Adigun, in his response, described the visit as a defining moment for the Command, noting that the insights and guidance provided by the ACG would help sharpen operational focus and boost efficiency. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command to continuous improvement, effective support for the objectives of the Nigeria Customs Service, protection of the national economy and facilitation of legitimate trade.
