The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, LIRS has reaffirmed its leadership in public sector innovation after securing two major recognitions at the 2025 Peak Performer Awards held in Lagos.
Executive Chairman of LIRS, Ayodele Subair, who also featured on the cover of the 2025 edition of Peak Performer Magazine, was honoured with the “Board Chair of the Year” Award.
The recognition celebrates his visionary leadership, commitment to digital transformation and strategic reforms that have strengthened revenue administration in Lagos State and positioned the agency as a national reference point.
Under Subair’s leadership, LIRS has implemented modern, technology-driven revenue processes, enhanced service delivery, and deepened transparency, reforms widely regarded as critical to Lagos State’s economic advancement.
In addition to Subair’s recognition, LIRS itself was named the “Peak Performing Revenue Agency,” highlighting its continuous drive for operational excellence and accountability.
Speaking after receiving his award, Subair expressed gratitude and dedicated the honour to the entire LIRS workforce.
He said the achievement reflects the collective hard work, professionalism and innovation of the team, noting that the agency remains committed to delivering world-class service and supporting the state’s development agenda.
The ceremony also celebrated several notable figures across various sectors, including Chief Chris O. Okunowo in the legal profession, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe in financial services, Austin Avuru in oil and gas, Dr. John Obaro in payment services, Dr. Victoria A. Samson in oil and gas, Dr. Abiodun Adedipe in professional services, Prof. Chris Uwaje in information technology, as well as Dotun Sulaiman and Ufot Udeme for their contributions to professional services.
The 2025 Peak Performer Awards brought together leaders from business, governance and development sectors to celebrate excellence and spotlight individuals and institutions reshaping Nigeria’s progress.
