The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayodele Ogunsan, has congratulated the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his leadership and reform-driven approach to policing.
In a statement, Ogunsan described the IGP as a distinguished officer whose career reflects professionalism, courage, and commitment to public safety.
He noted that since assuming office as the 23rd Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force in 2026, Disu has shown strong resolve in repositioning the Force towards improved efficiency and public trust.
Ogunsan particularly commended the IGP’s emphasis on intelligence-led policing, aimed at enhancing proactive crime detection and prevention, as well as his push for the integration of digital tools and forensic capabilities into police operations.
He said the reforms signal a transition towards modern, accountable, and citizen-focused policing.
The LSSTF boss also highlighted Disu’s efforts to strengthen policing structures and improve officers’ welfare, including the restructuring and reduction of tactical units to address operational excesses and redeploy personnel for enhanced community-level security.
He further acknowledged the IGP’s advocacy for discipline, integrity, and professionalism within the Force, noting that such values are critical to restoring public confidence.
Reflecting on Disu’s track record, Ogunsan cited his leadership roles in key commands, including Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, where he demonstrated operational excellence in urban crime management.
Ogunsan wished the IGP good health, wisdom, and continued success in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
“On this special occasion, we celebrate not only a remarkable leader but a reformer whose vision continues to inspire confidence in the security architecture of our nation,” he said.
