….As CP Lanre Ogunlowo’s crusade against crime in Ogun State records another success.

In a swift response to criminal activity, the Ogun State Police Command successfully thwarted an armed robbery operation along the Sagamu/Ijebu-Ode highway. The incident, which occurred near Western University before the multiple bridge, led to the neutralization of one suspect while others fled with gunshot wounds.

According to reports, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Odogbolu received an urgent alert that robbers had blocked the highway, posing a serious threat to commuters. Acting immediately, the DPO mobilized his patrol team, working in collaboration with units from Obalende and Amateko.

Upon arrival, the police engaged the criminals in a gun battle, leading to the fatal injury of one of the robbers. The remaining suspects managed to escape into a nearby bush. A ghost gun was recovered at the scene, and the deceased robber’s body has been deposited at the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital Morgue.

Efforts are currently ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects. Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, has reinforced the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of commuters by ordering intensified patrols and surveillance along the highway.

This incident marks another success in CP Ogunlowo’s ongoing crackdown on crime in Ogun State, as the police continue to strengthen security operations to curb criminal activities.
