OGUN POLICE COMMAND CELEBRATES NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS


Ogun State Police Command has celebrated the promotion of 16 officers to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police during a ceremony on September 26, 2024. Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha, alongside his management team, presided over the event, emphasizing the commitment to improved service delivery.

Families, supporters, and media gathered to witness the decoration of the officers, who received the federal insignia, known as the eagle and star. This promotion signifies a critical advancement from the superintendent rank and is awarded to exemplary officers demonstrating intelligence, competence, and diligence.

Among those honored were CSP Salami Moruf Akanbi, head of the SWAT tactical team, and fellow officers Taiwo Opadiran, Fatoberu Oyekanmi, Thomas Udegbo, Edward Okosun, Anthony Omotosho, Femi James Ekemode, and Sani Kehinde.

During his address, CP Mustapha highlighted the necessity of leveraging information technology in the fight against evolving crime. He urged the newly promoted officers to prioritize self-improvement through further education, enhanced training, and participation in security-related courses.

The Commissioner reiterated a zero-tolerance policy for inefficiency, encouraging the officers to approach their new roles with professionalism, integrity, and a strong respect for the rule of law and human rights.

In response, CSP Salami Moruf, on behalf of his peers, pledged their commitment to safeguarding lives and property in accordance with the Police Act.
