Unity Bank Plc has announced winners of the 27th edition of its Corpreneurship Challenge, a flagship entrepreneurship development initiative for NYSC corps members.
Graduates from institutions including Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, emerged victorious across diverse sectors such as fashion, agribusiness, footwear production, and services.
At the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp, Awolumate Fawaz Babatunde, a Civil Engineering graduate from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, won the N800,000 grand prize with a fashion design business pitch. Ugwoke Daniel Ifechukwu of UNN was first runner-up with N500,000.
Other winners included Abdur-Razaq Sayfullah Adebola (OAU) in Rivers State and Olatunde Esther Funmilayo (Olabisi Onabanjo University) in Kwara State. Additional winners emerged from Abuja, Niger, Adamawa, Jigawa, Plateau, Kaduna, and Delta States.
Mrs. Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head, Retail, SME & E-Business at Unity Bank, said the initiative demonstrates the bank’s commitment to youth empowerment and enterprise development, bridging the gap for young Nigerians with viable business ideas.
Since inception, the programme has supported 638 entrepreneurs nationwide, providing grants of up to N300 million and mentorship, contributing to SME growth and the broader economy.
