The Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF has donated 70 tyres to the Rapid Response Squad, RRS to strengthen the unit’s mobility and improve its response time to security incidents across the state.
The tyres were presented by the Executive Secretary/CEO of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Commander of the RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunsan, who was represented by the Director of Administration, Mr. Adegbola Lewis, said the intervention reflected the Fund’s commitment to ensuring that security agencies have the basic operational resources required to respond effectively to emergencies.
“The LSSTF understands that providing vehicles is only one part of strengthening security operations. Those vehicles must remain functional and available when they are needed most. This intervention is therefore about ensuring that the RRS remains mobile, responsive and ready to protect the people of Lagos,” he said.
The RRS Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, commended the Fund for its sustained partnership with the Police unit, noting that consistent logistical support remained critical to effective policing and rapid response operations.
He said the 70 tyres would contribute significantly to keeping the squad’s operational vehicles in good condition and ensuring that officers remain adequately mobile as they respond to security incidents across Lagos.
