Lagos State University, LASU has intensified preparations for the forthcoming 2026/2027 Students’ Union elections following a virtual stakeholders’ meeting convened by the university management.
The meeting, held on Saturday, 23 May 2026, was chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, and brought together representatives of the Independent Electoral Committee (IEC), the Students Affairs Division, the University Security Unit, the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), as well as candidates participating in the elections.
According to the university, the engagement was organised to fine-tune preparations ahead of the elections scheduled for Monday, 25 May, and Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Discussions during the meeting centred on strategies to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free electoral process across the institution.
As part of the resolutions reached, all polling centres are expected to open by 8:30 a.m., while officials of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology will be deployed to designated centres to provide technical support and ensure the seamless conduct of the exercise.
The university management also reiterated its commitment to maintaining orderliness throughout the electoral process and urged students to participate peacefully in the election of leaders for the 2026/2027 academic session.
LASU wished students a successful and peaceful election as they prepare to elect new representatives for the Students’ Union Government.
