The management of Lagos State University and Federal University of Science and Technology Epe have dismissed as false reports claiming that the LASU Epe Campus has been converted into FUSTECH.
In a joint clarification, the institutions described the circulating notice as misleading, stressing that the LASU Epe Campus remains a fully operational arm of the university.
According to the statement, the campus continues to host key academic units, including the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, School of Agriculture, as well as the Pre-Degree and Sandwich Degree programmes, alongside other academic and research centres.
The institutions, however, explained that FUSTECH, a newly established university, is currently utilising some facilities at the LASU Epe Campus on a temporary basis to support its take-off.
They noted that the arrangement is part of a collaborative effort and does not in any way alter the ownership, structure, or academic operations of either institution.
“Each institution retains its distinct identity, governance structure, and academic programmes. The arrangement is only interim, pending FUSTECH’s relocation to its permanent site,” the statement said.
The clarification was jointly signed by the Registrar of LASU, Emmanuel A. Fanu, and the Registrar of FUSTECH, Kabiru Olawale Okugbesan.
They urged members of the public, prospective students, parents, and stakeholders to disregard the false claim and rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to academic excellence and pledged to continue providing clear guidance to stakeholders.
