The Lagos State Safety Commission, in collaboration with the Safe Schools Alliance, is set to host the Safety Chill Out Conference, an innovative event aimed at promoting safety awareness and addressing cyberbullying among schoolchildren.

The conference with the theme: “Safety Chill Out Online-Everywhere”, will take place on October 15, 2024, at Balmoral Hall, Ikeja Sheraton, Lagos.

The event is expected to draw over 1,000 in-person attendees and more than 2,000 virtual participants from across Nigeria, with attendees ranging from  ischoolchildren, parents, educators to various stakeholders in the education sector.

The conference aims to provide children with a fun, practical learning experience on safety practices, while also raising awareness on the growing issue of cyberbullying.

In addition to its educational component, the conference will raise funds for school safety advocacy and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening safety measures in schools across the country.

The Lagos State Safety Commission and the Safe Schools Alliance hope to bring together key players to ensure safer school environments and to highlight the importance of safety in educational settings.

The organizers are also inviting companies to sponsor the event, noting that their support will not only ensure the success of the conference but will also position them as advocates for school and community safety.
