Lagos State Education District five, Aboju has recognised and rewarded forty members of staff comprising school administrators, teachers, and non-teaching personnel among others who exhibited excellent virtues in the discharge of their duties.

Supervising Tutor General/Permanent Secretary for District Five, Anike Adekanye while presenting gift items and awards to recipients at the seventeenth Annual Merit Award for the District, said the awardees have played pivotal roles in the quest to achieve the pillars of the state government’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda.

Adekanye said the theme of the award ceremony; “Technology and Excellence in Education Service Delivery” is to further emphasise the significant position that technology occupies today in excellent education service delivery and impactful learning, urging the awardees to sustain the tempo of excellence even in the new year.

While commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Basic and Tertiary EducationJamiu Alli-Balogun, and other stakeholders for their investment in education, she pledged to ensure that District Five attains greater heights.

Categories of the award included Best Principal (Senior and Junior), Best Vice Principal (Senior and Junior), Best HOD (Senior and Junior), Best Year Tutor (Senior and Junior), Best Teacher, (Senior and Junior), Best District Headquarters Staff (Senior and Junior), and Best Non Teaching Staff(Senior and Junior).
