JMG Inaugurates Hybrid Solar Power System to Cut Energy Costs, Boost Sustainability

JMG Limited has inaugurated an advanced hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island branch in Lagos, as part of efforts to promote reliable, sustainable and cost-efficient energy solutions for businesses in Nigeria.

The newly installed system integrates 66kWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) generation, 80kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage to provide a reliable energy platform while reducing dependence on diesel-powered generation.

According to the company, the system was designed using advanced load analysis with Fluke Load Analyzer and PV system simulation software and is expected to generate about 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying approximately 80 per cent of the branch’s energy requirements.

JMG said the installation is projected to reduce diesel consumption by about 28,000 litres annually, resulting in an estimated ₦50 million in yearly fuel cost savings while preventing more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

The project features LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage to deliver intelligent energy management, seamless backup power and improved operational efficiency.

Speaking on the project, JMG’s Head of Solar Division, Hussein Abbas, said the company decided to deploy the technology within its own operations to demonstrate confidence in its energy solutions.

“At JMG, we believe the best way to demonstrate confidence in our solutions is to deploy them within our own operations. The Victoria Island Branch now serves as a real-world example of how businesses can improve energy reliability, reduce operating costs and accelerate their sustainability goals through intelligent hybrid power systems,” Abbas said.

He added that the Victoria Island branch will also serve as a live demonstration facility where customers, consultants and project developers can experience the company’s commercial hybrid solar solutions operating in a real business environment.

JMG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting organisations with innovative power technologies that improve energy security, reduce operating costs and advance sustainable business operations.
