Member, House of Representatives, Ikorodu Constituency, Babajimi Benson has charged government administrators at the grassroots level to impact citizens through the development of infrastructure, economy and human capital.

He gave the charge today when he commissioned the  newly constructed Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun Legislative and Administrative Building project carried out the Builder Olusesan Daini led administration in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, LCDA.

Rep Benson, who commended the leadership of the LCDA for being alive to its responsibilities in terms of  infrastructural development, urged local administrators to brace up for more work with the approval of the local government autonomy.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Builder, Olusesan Daini highlighted that the project, years in the making, stands as a testament to his administration’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for effective governance. He said the building is designed to be a central hub for legislative and administrative activities, promoting collaboration and innovation.

“As this administration concludes its second term, this building is celebrated as a key achievement, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance community services.”

The Chairman extended gratitude to everyone involved in bringing the project to fruition and emphasized that the new building will serve as a catalyst for future progress.

“This structure symbolizes our dedication to serving the community and will support our continued efforts to improve the lives of our citizens,”he stated.

In their goodwill messages, Chairman All Progressive Congress, APC in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and the Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Meranda commended the leadership of the LCDA for demonstrating the ideals of the progressives in Lagos and Nigeria which are hinged on delivering the dividents of democracy to the people.

The newly commissioned Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun Legislative and Administrative Building which was completed in 6months features a 55-seater chamber, offices for five Councilors, the clerk, and three department heads, as well as 30 workstations. It also includes 15 modern restrooms and 17 air-conditioned rooms, all fully furnished to support the Council and staff in their duties.

The event had in attendance lawmakers, local government council leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, market leaders, students, cultural troupes, top government officials, party faithful and other well wishers.
