Isabella Goes Home as MasterChef Nigeria Produces Top Three Semi-finalists

Isabella’s journey in MasterChef Nigeria came to an end after she was eliminated in a tense quarter-final that produced the competition’s top three semi-finalists.

The episode, themed around spices—the soul of Nigerian cuisine—saw four contestants battle for three available semi-final spots, with each home cook challenged to create a MasterChef-worthy dish where spices took centre stage.

The competition took another dramatic turn when the judges introduced a surprise twist midway through the challenge, requiring contestants to prepare an additional sweet or savoury dish within an extra 30 minutes, with spices again serving as the hero ingredient.

Adding to the suspense was Favy’s immunity pin, which she had retained throughout the competition. Although she initially chose to cook, she activated the immunity pin with just five minutes remaining, automatically securing her place in the semi-final and leaving David, Isabella and Fads to fight for the remaining two spots.

At the tasting session, Isabella’s rice pudding drew sharp criticism from the judges, who said it was “not a rice pudding in any way, shape or form.” Judge Chef Eros also described the dish as unworthy of the semi-final stage.

David impressed the judges with both of his dishes and emerged as the winner of the challenge, earning the Dish of the Day title.

Fads also came under scrutiny, with the judges acknowledging that her dishes were well presented but questioning whether she had done enough to raise her game at such a crucial stage of the competition.

With David advancing and Favy already safe through her immunity pin, Isabella and Fads found themselves in the bottom two.

After deliberation, the judges announced Isabella’s elimination, ending her MasterChef Nigeria journey.

Reacting to her exit, Isabella said she was grateful for the experience, noting that she had learnt valuable lessons throughout the competition that she would carry forward.

Her departure means the MasterChef Nigeria semi-final will feature Favy, David and Fads, who are now just one challenge away from the grand finale.

In the semi-final, the contestants will be tasked with replicating signature dishes created by Chef Eros and Chef Stone, with a place in the finale at stake.
