The Somolu Local Government Area is once again lighting the path to digital empowerment for children and teenagers, as it officially announces the return of TechSpark 2.0, a free summer technology bootcamp designed to give young minds a critical edge in the digital age.
The initiative, proudly hosted by the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Ashimi Lateef, is being held in collaboration with Somolu Tech Innovation and Tech Shepherd Limited.
Scheduled to run from August 11 to 28, 2025, at the New ICT Hall of the Somolu Local Government Secretariat (beside UNA Primary School), the programme is open to kids and teens between the ages of 8 and 14 years. Participation is completely free, though spaces are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
“Let’s gift our children a summer bursting with creativity, innovation, and future-ready skills,” Hon. Lateef said while unveiling the initiative.
TechSpark 2.0 promises an exciting and hands-on experience, offering training in: Innovation & Design Thinking, Coding & Programming, Computer Basics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Kids and Field Trips and much more.
Building on the success of the inaugural edition, this year’s programme is “bigger, better, and bolder,” aiming to spark the interest of young learners in the limitless possibilities of technology and digital innovation.
Organisers have also launched a dedicated WhatsApp community for participants and parents to receive daily updates and programme information.
