FirstBank Unveils Exclusive 500-Seater Premium Bleacher at Carnival Calabar 2025

FirstBank has announced its sponsorship of the Carnival Calabar & Festival 2025, introducing a major innovation aimed at enhancing the overall carnival experience.

The bank revealed plans to construct the first-ever private 500-seater premium bleacher at the carnival, offering guests improved comfort, safety, and a superior viewing experience during the festivities.

Speaking on the sponsorship, the Acting Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, FirstBank, Mr. Olayinka Ijabiyi, said the partnership aligns with the bank’s First@Arts initiative, which supports the creative arts value chain across Nigeria.

According to him, carnivals and cultural expressions play a vital role in inspiring people, promoting unity, and preserving national heritage. He noted that for over 131 years, FirstBank has consistently supported platforms that encourage self-expression, social reflection, and cultural exchange.

Ijabiyi explained that the introduction of the exclusive premium bleacher is part of the bank’s efforts to elevate the Carnival Calabar experience, describing it as a unique addition designed to deliver exceptional comfort and memorable moments for attendees.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Calabar Commission, Mr. Gabe Onah, described FirstBank’s involvement as a strong example of private-sector commitment to culture and tourism. He said the partnership would further enhance the quality and global appeal of the carnival.

The Carnival Calabar & Festival 2025 is officially marketed by Okhma Global Limited, the appointed official marketer responsible for brand partnerships, promotional engagements, and ticket sales. The company has worked with the Cross River State Government for over a decade, contributing significantly to the carnival’s commercial growth and international visibility.
