Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS and Automotive Gas Oil, Diesel, a move expected to lower fuel costs, improve access to petroleum products and support economic activities across Nigeria.
The new pricing, which takes effect from Thursday, August 6, reduces the ex-depot price of PMS to ₦1,165 per litre from ₦1,215 per litre, while Diesel will now sell at ₦1,570 per litre, down from ₦1,650 per litre.
The company said the ₦50 per litre reduction in petrol and ₦80 per litre cut in diesel prices reflect its commitment to making energy more affordable for consumers and businesses while ensuring the steady supply of high-quality refined petroleum products.
According to the refinery, the price adjustment is part of its strategy to leverage improved operational efficiencies to deliver greater value to customers and support economic growth.
Dangote Refinery said the reduction would enhance energy affordability, improve access to refined petroleum products and provide relief to businesses that depend on fuel for production and logistics.
The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining stable product supply while contributing to Nigeria’s energy security through local refining.
It noted that, as Africa’s largest refinery, Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to play a strategic role in reducing the country’s reliance on imported petroleum products, strengthening domestic energy security and supporting national economic development.
The refinery also reaffirmed its commitment to passing the benefits of improved operational efficiency to consumers whenever market conditions permit, while sustaining investments that enhance Nigeria’s refining capacity and fuel supply.
