The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening operational collaboration with the Nigerian Navy to enhance security across Lagos and Ogun states.
Jimoh gave the assurance while receiving the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral AA Mustapha, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, on July 8.
The visit was aimed at reinforcing the existing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Navy, particularly in the areas of coastal and maritime security.
Rear Admiral Mustapha, who was accompanied by senior naval officers, appreciated the warm reception accorded his delegation and stressed the strategic importance of the maritime sector to Nigeria’s economic growth and national development.
He emphasised the need for sustained collaboration between both security agencies through intelligence sharing, maritime security operations and joint operational engagements.
The naval chief reaffirmed the commitment of the Western Naval Command to deepening its partnership with Zone 2 and the Nigeria Police Force in enhancing national security and ensuring a safer environment.
Responding, AIG Jimoh described the visit as a reflection of the cordial relationship and shared commitment among sister security agencies.
He noted that the Zonal Command has continued to enjoy a productive working relationship with the Western Naval Command and commended the Nigerian Navy for its professionalism and contributions to national security.
Jimoh described the Nigerian Navy as one of the best on the continent and stressed the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges.
He assured the naval delegation of the command’s continued support in strengthening operational cooperation to safeguard lives and property across Lagos and Ogun states.
