Community leaders from Agege Local Government Area and Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, LCDA have commended the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayodele Ogunsan, for ongoing security infrastructure projects and interventions aimed at improving safety in the area.
The leaders gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the LSSTF headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, where they expressed appreciation for the agency’s continued support to security agencies operating within Agege and neighbouring communities.
A major highlight of the visit was the delegation’s praise for the ongoing construction of the Elere Police Station, which they described as a strategic project expected to enhance policing capacity and improve response times to security incidents within the community.
The delegation noted that investments in security infrastructure have become increasingly important in sustaining peace, promoting economic activities and improving the quality of life of residents across Lagos communities.
The community leaders also acknowledged the support provided by the LSSTF to security operations targeted at tackling crime and illicit drug activities in Agege and surrounding areas.
According to them, the increased operational activities of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other security agencies have contributed significantly to efforts aimed at reducing drug-related crimes and improving public safety.
Responding, Dr. Ogunsan thanked the delegation for the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of the Trust Fund to strengthening security infrastructure and operational support for security agencies across Lagos State.
He said the LSSTF would continue to collaborate with law enforcement agencies, community stakeholders and other partners to create safer communities and enhance public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
Ogunsan stressed that sustainable security requires continuous investment, stakeholder collaboration and community participation, noting that the Fund remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve the safety and well-being of Lagos residents.
Among those present during the visit were the Head of the LSSTF Monitoring Unit, Mr. Adeniran Samson Israel, as well as community leaders including Hon. Sabitu Kamorudeen, Hon. Akinbode Odekunle and Engr. Adeniyi Adekoya.
