GTCO Launches “Take on Squad” Hackathon 3.0, Opens Applications

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, GTCO has announced the launch of the third edition of its “Take on Squad” Hackathon, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and technology-driven solutions across Africa.

The initiative, themed “Smart Systems: The Intelligent Economy,” is designed to bring together developers, designers, and entrepreneurs from across Nigeria to build practical, data-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, commerce, and digital inclusion.

Applications for the Hackathon are now open, with interested participants encouraged to register via the official portal.

Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director of HabariPay Ltd, Eduophon Japhet, noted that innovation remains critical in today’s digital economy. He explained that the Hackathon is aimed not only at inspiring creativity but also at enabling participants to develop scalable solutions with measurable impact.

The competition will see teams leverage Squad’s APIs to create digital tools tailored to everyday challenges faced by individuals and businesses. The event continues to serve as a key platform for nurturing emerging tech talent and fostering problem-solving capabilities.

Through the Hackathon, GTCO further strengthens its position at the intersection of finance, technology, and enterprise, driving digital transformation and sustainable growth across Africa.
