NIMC Intensifies Nationwide Ward-Level NIN Enrolment Drive

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC says its ward-level enrolment drive for the National Identification Number is ongoing across the country.

The exercise, which began on February 16, 2026, is aimed at expanding access to registration centres and increasing identity coverage nationwide.

The Commission reiterates that the National Identification Number, NIN, remains a key requirement for accessing government services in Nigeria. It is therefore urging citizens and legal residents who are yet to enrol to visit designated centres within their wards.

NIMC advises members of the public to check its official website, www.nimc.gov.ng, for the nearest enrolment point, cooperate with officials, and ensure they provide accurate information during registration.

For verified updates, the Commission also directs the public to its official social media platforms, including Facebook at National Identity Management Commission – NIMC, X formerly Twitter at @nimc_ng, and Instagram at nimc_ng.

Pre-enrolment services are available at penrol.nimc.gov.ng, while data modification can be carried out via selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

The Commission adds that the NIN authentication application, NINAuth, is available for download on mobile app stores.

NIMC says the ward-level exercise forms part of efforts to achieve inclusive and assured identity coverage nationwide.
