The Ogun State Police Command has decorated 541 officers newly promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP.
The decoration exercise was conducted simultaneously at the Command Headquarters, Area Commands, Divisions and other formations across the state, reflecting what officials described as meticulous coordination.
According to the Command, the promotion recognises the officers’ performance, discipline and dedication to duty, while reinforcing the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to merit and institutional integrity.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo. congratulated the newly elevated ASPs and described the advancement as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility.
He noted that the promotion would strengthen the Command’s leadership structure and enhance its operational capacity.
The Commissioner also appreciated the families of the officers for their support and sacrifices, urging the promoted officers to uphold higher standards of professionalism, discipline and accountability.
He further charged them to intensify intelligence-led policing efforts to sustain safety and security across Ogun State.
