Lagos Schools to Resume Second Term January 12

The Lagos State Government has announced that all public and private schools, as well as Government Technical Colleges across the state, will resume for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 12, 2026.

The announcement, issued in line with the approved Lagos State School Calendar, directs all schools to commence academic and administrative activities immediately upon resumption.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, in a statement, urged all educational institutions in the state to strictly adhere to approved public health guidelines and safety protocols as schools reopen.

Alli-Balogun noted that government officials have been deployed to carry out inspections across schools in the state to ensure full compliance with established safety standards.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation to teachers, parents, and guardians for their continued cooperation and called on them to ensure that students are adequately prepared for the new term.
