Lagos Police to Conduct IED Simulation Exercise at Eko Atlantic City

The Lagos State Police Command has announced that it will carry out an Improvised Explosive Device, IED simulation exercise around Eko Atlantic City on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the operation will be handled by the Nigeria Police Force Explosives Ordnance Disposal Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit.

The Command explained that the exercise is aimed at boosting its readiness to respond to bomb-related emergencies. It will involve controlled detonations by specialized officers trained to neutralize explosive threats.

Residents, workers, and visitors in the area are advised not to panic when they hear blast sounds during the exercise, as there will be no shrapnel or danger to lives and property.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, appeals for the understanding and cooperation of the public as the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Lagosians,” the statement read.

The Command also assured that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and risk-free operation.
