The Lagos State University, LASU has announced the suspension of admissions into its Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme for full-time regular students (Stream 2) for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The decision, made during a University Senate meeting on Friday, November 15, 2024, aims to restructure the programme for greater impact and alignment with industry standards.
The Senate cited two key reasons for the suspension:
- The need to reorganize the programme to enhance its relevance and align with global practices and industry demands.
- The necessity to update the curriculum to include skills that improve students’ employability and career readiness in the evolving job market.
As a result, students admitted under the Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme (Stream 2) for the upcoming academic session will be automatically transferred to the Full-Time Degree Programme (Stream 1), which excludes the entrepreneurship component. These students will now only be required to pay fees applicable to Stream 1.
Returning students currently enrolled in the Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme across various levels (200-500) will continue their studies under the existing structure until graduation.
The university advised all stakeholders to take note of these changes and adjust their expectations accordingly.
