The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, has assured that its systems are operating efficiently to facilitate the ongoing National Identification Number, NIN, enrolment, verification, and data modification services.
This comes ahead of the looming 14th of September 2024 deadline for NIN-SIM linkage, ensuring Nigerians can meet the requirement without delays.
In a statement by the Head of Corporate Communications in NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, the Commission said over 10,000 NIN enrolment centres across Nigeria and in the diaspora are fully operational, allowing both Nigerians and legal residents to register and obtain their NIN.
The statement noted that NIMC encourages individuals who need to modify their NIN data to use the NIMC Self-Service portal, available at self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, with applicable terms and conditions.
”For further inquiries on enrolment centers, NIN data modification processes, or NIN verification issues, NIMC advises the public to visit its official website www.nimc.gov.ng”.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy towards extortion and unethical practices, NIMC emphasizes that NIN enrolment is completely free.
”The public is urged to report any cases of extortion or improper behavior to NIMC via nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng or call 0700-225-5646, the statement concluded”.
