Nigeria Seeks Tourism Investment, Global Market Access at WTM London 2026

Nigeria is seeking increased tourism investment, international partnerships and greater access to global travel markets through its participation at the World Travel Market, WTM London 2026.

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority, NTDA, which is leading the country’s delegation following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s endorsement of Nigeria’s participation, said the international platform would help promote the country’s tourism potential and attract investment.

NTDA Director-General, Mr. Olayiwola Awakan, said the event offered an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage, natural attractions and emerging tourism products to international audiences.

He said the authority was engaging international tour operators, airlines, investors and destination management companies to develop partnerships, expand market access and create new opportunities for the tourism industry.

Nigeria’s participation also includes private-sector stakeholders through the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), reinforcing efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and industry operators.

The NTDA said the participation was expected to support efforts to attract investment, increase visitor arrivals, create jobs and expand tourism’s contribution to economic diversification under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
