LSSTF Pledges Support for Agege’s Grassroots Security Initiative

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting grassroots security initiatives in Lagos, pledging continued collaboration with the Agege Community Security Trust Fund to strengthen security operations in the local government area.

The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Agege Security Trust Fund to the LSSTF headquarters on Assbifi Road, Alausa, Ikeja.

The delegation comprised the Agege Security Trust Fund CEO, Mr. Anikulapo M. Adeyemi, and an advisory board member, Mr. Adeniran Samson Israel.

Ogunsan said sustained partnerships and commitment to service were essential to achieving the objectives of the Agege initiative, adding that the community trust fund could deliver practical and lasting security interventions, similar to those being implemented by LSSTF in its nearly 20 years of operation.

The visit followed the inauguration of the Agege Security Trust Fund on October 8, 2026, at the Agege Local Government Secretariat.

At the inauguration, Ogunsan presented a new operational patrol vehicle to the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Vinod Obasa, to improve security response and operational mobility.

He also pledged additional protective equipment for security personnel supporting the initiative, including 10 ballistic helmets, 10 bulletproof vests, raincoats and operational boots.

Ogunsan had identified government, residents, security agencies and the private sector as critical stakeholders in security management, stressing the need for collective responsibility in building safer communities.

He also pledged LSSTF’s continued support in mobilising broader stakeholder participation for the Agege initiative.

The Agege Security Trust Fund is designed to promote grassroots participation and sustainable funding for security operations in the local government area, with a focus on intelligence gathering, crime prevention and improved security coordination.
