Golvia Launches Social Media Platform Targeting Africa’s Creator Economy

A new social media platform, Golvia, has entered the digital market with a model designed to help content creators, users and small businesses generate income from online engagement and reach audiences across borders.

Launched on August 11, 2026, the platform combines social networking, identity verification, creator monetisation and e-commerce in what its developers describe as a unified social commerce ecosystem.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Izuchukwu Nwankpa, said the platform was developed to address the limited financial returns many African creators and small businesses receive from their online activities.

He said Golvia aims to give users opportunities to earn from their creativity and digital participation while helping businesses promote and sell products to local and international customers.

Unlike conventional social media platforms that largely depend on advertising revenue, Golvia incorporates features such as live streaming, virtual gifting, monetisation tasks, games, direct messaging and group chats.

The platform also provides identity verification options intended to help users establish authenticity and build trust when interacting or conducting business online.

Explaining its revenue model, Nwankpa said creators could earn through virtual gifts received during live broadcasts, participate in monetisation tasks and establish partnerships with brands through the platform’s social commerce tools.

He added that small businesses could use its storefront and advertising features to promote products and reach customers beyond their immediate markets.

Golvia is already attracting verified users across 14 countries in Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, including Nigeria, Ghana, Lesotho, Kenya, South Africa, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Germany, India and Australia.

According to Nwankpa, the platform’s development is rooted in an ambition to connect African creators and businesses to global markets by reducing barriers to monetisation and cross-border trade.

He argued that the economic value of social media should extend beyond the data collected and advertising revenue generated by platforms to include meaningful returns for the people whose content and participation sustain them.

Golvia is now open for registration as it rolls out its features across different markets.
