A newly constructed divisional police headquarters facilitated by Dangote Cement Plc has been handed over to the Ogun State Police Command in Ibese, Yewa North Local Government Area, in a move expected to strengthen local policing and improve security.
The facility was formally handed over on Friday, October 16, 2026, during a ceremony attended by the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, and the Aboro of Ibese, Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero, alongside traditional leaders and community representatives.
Mulero expressed appreciation to Dangote Cement for facilitating the project, saying the headquarters would provide a more conducive working environment for police officers, improve service delivery and support efforts to attract businesses and investors to Ibese.
The monarch also acknowledged the support of the Ogun State Government and the police command, commending Ojajuni for security initiatives which he said had reduced incidents of kidnapping and banditry in the state.
He urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information to help maintain peace and protect lives and property.
The monarch also charged police officers to uphold professionalism, discipline, accountability and respect for citizens’ fundamental rights.
In his remarks, Ojajuni reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to working with traditional institutions and community stakeholders to strengthen public trust and improve security.
He presented an Award of Honour to Mulero in recognition of his leadership, community development efforts and support for law enforcement.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Dangote Cement Plc, traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women’s groups, religious organisations and members of the Ibese Muslim and Christian communities, as well as Hausa and Igbo residents.
The project highlights the role of collaboration between corporate organisations, traditional institutions and public agencies in providing infrastructure to support local security.
