Stronger grassroots collaboration, intelligence sharing and sustainable financing are expected to dominate discussions as government officials, security agencies, community leaders and private-sector stakeholders converge for the Agege Security Summit on October 8, 2026.
The summit, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Agege Local Government Hall, will examine practical approaches to improving the protection of lives and property in Agege, one of Lagos State’s densely populated and commercially active communities.
The platform is expected to focus on inter-agency cooperation, community participation, intelligence gathering, crime prevention, logistics, public awareness and rapid response as part of efforts to strengthen security at the grassroots.
Among those expected to participate are the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr Ayodele Ogunsan; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Olaiwola Tijani; and ACP Saheed Egbeyemi.
Other expected participants include former Orile-Agege LCDA Executive Chairman, Hon. J.S. Babatunde; real estate investor, Abdullahi Saheed Mosadoluwa; the summit’s Convener, Abdullahi Anikulapo; and the Chief Host and Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Hon. Vinod Obasa.
The organisers said the summit would provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the role of community participation and sustainable financing in modern security management.
Discussions are also expected to explore practical ways of strengthening cooperation among government institutions, security agencies, businesses and residents to improve intelligence sharing and response to security threats.
The organisers said the objective is to develop practical pathways for a safer and more sustainably developed Agege through stronger collaboration among stakeholders.
