LSSTF Boss Hails Governor Sanwo-Olu At 61, Highlights Legacy of Security, Infrastructure, Economic Growth

Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF, Ayodele Ogunsan, has described Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as a transformational leader whose investments in security, infrastructure and economic development have significantly reshaped Lagos State.

In a goodwill message marking the governor’s 61st birthday, Ogunsan praised Sanwo-Olu’s leadership style, saying his administration has delivered measurable progress across key sectors while strengthening Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s commercial capital and one of Africa’s leading investment destinations.

According to him, the governor’s birthday provides an opportunity not only to celebrate his life but also to reflect on what he described as seven years of purposeful governance and impactful public service.

“From safer communities and stronger security architecture to world-class transportation systems, improved road networks, urban regeneration projects and increased investor confidence, Governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated what visionary leadership can achieve when it is driven by service, innovation and genuine concern for the people,” Ogunsan said.

The LSSTF boss described Sanwo-Olu as the “number one champion of safety and security in Lagos State,” noting that one of the defining achievements of the administration has been its sustained investment in security infrastructure and technology.

He cited the provision of operational vehicles, surveillance systems, communication equipment, intelligence-gathering tools, aerial patrol assets and drone technology as evidence of the government’s commitment to proactive security management.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu understands that no society can truly prosper without security. His administration has made safety and security a top priority, and the results are visible across Lagos today,” he stated.

Ogunsan further highlighted the state government’s deployment of drone surveillance technology across strategic locations, describing it as a reflection of the administration’s embrace of intelligence-led and technology-driven security solutions.

Beyond security, he commended the governor for delivering major transportation projects, particularly the Lagos Blue Line Rail and the Lagos Red Line Rail, which he said have transformed mobility and reinforced long-term urban planning in the state.

“The Blue and Red Rail Lines are more than transportation projects; they are symbols of visionary leadership and long-term planning. They are changing how people move, work and live in Lagos,” he said.

Ogunsan also applauded the administration’s road construction and rehabilitation programmes, noting that they have improved connectivity, reduced travel times and stimulated economic activities across communities.

On youth development, he praised the governor’s efforts in creating opportunities through empowerment initiatives, entrepreneurship support programmes and youth-focused engagement platforms.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu has consistently demonstrated faith in the potential of our youths. His administration has invested in programmes that are opening doors of opportunity and preparing the next generation of leaders and innovators,” he said.

The LSSTF chief further credited the governor with strengthening investor confidence in Lagos despite prevailing economic challenges, saying the state continues to attract investments because of its stable and business-friendly environment.

Describing Sanwo-Olu’s leadership as inclusive, responsive and transformational, Ogunsan said the governor has remained focused on practical solutions to the challenges facing residents.

“As he turns 61, we celebrate not just a birthday, but a remarkable record of service, impact and transformational governance. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has shown what purposeful leadership can achieve when driven by vision, compassion and commitment to the people,” he said.

He concluded by praying for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the governor, expressing confidence that Lagos would continue to benefit from his leadership and vision.
