Founder and Lead of the EGO Foundation, Toluwase Olaniyan, has been officially nominated for the African Business Chamber, AfBC, Ubuntu Social Enterprise Excellence Award as part of the AfBC African Business Awards 2026.
The nomination was announced by the African Business Chamber, which described the award as one rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu; “I am because we are.”
The recognition celebrates social enterprises that combine sustainable social impact with financial viability while empowering communities and addressing pressing social challenges through purpose-driven models.
According to AfBC, the Ubuntu Social Enterprise Excellence Award honours organisations and leaders whose work reflects community-centred development, innovation, and measurable impact in improving lives across Africa and the diaspora.
Olaniyan’s nomination highlights the growing recognition of the EGO Foundation’s work in advancing social development initiatives and building solutions that create lasting value for underserved communities.
The AfBC outlined the key timeline for the awards process. Nominations will close on February 28, 2026, after which a committee review and selection process, including eligibility and technical screening, will take place in March.
The finalists’ shortlist is expected to be announced in April, while winners will be revealed at a gala event scheduled to hold in London on May 29, 2026.
The African Business Awards celebrate individuals and organisations making significant contributions to economic growth, innovation, and social progress across Africa.
