LSSTF CEO Welcomes New Lagos Police Commissioner

Executive Secretary and CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has officially welcomed the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, to the Lagos State Police Command.

Dr. Ogunsan, speaking at the handing-over and taking-over ceremony, described CP Fatai’s appointment as strategic and timely, noting that Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub and West Africa’s economic centre, requires proactive, intelligence-driven, and community-focused policing.

“Lagos State already set a benchmark for security, which you are well aware of because you have been part of the security architecture at various levels. The government and people of Lagos expect you to further enhance policing standards in line with global best practices. Step up the game,” Ogunsan charged.

He assured the new Commissioner of the continued support of LSSTF, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to providing critical logistics, operational support, and capacity-building initiatives for law enforcement agencies.

According to Ogunsan, collaboration between security institutions and supporting agencies remains vital for crime prevention and public safety.

In the same vein, the LSSTF CEO commended the outgoing Commissioner, AIG Olohundare Jimoh, for his dedication and service while leading the Lagos State Police Command, particularly highlighting his contributions to the Eko Strike Force initiative and the ongoing development of the Lagos Command Conference Centre.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Lagos Police management team, including DC Admin, DCP Khan Salihu; DC State CID, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin; AC Admin, ACP Mary Ayim; ACP Aka Shittu; as well as Area Commanders, Tactical Squad Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and family and friends of CP Fatai.
