LASU, Nigeria French Language Village Strengthen Ties

Lagos State University, LASU, and the Nigeria French Language Village, NFLV, Badagry, have reaffirmed their commitment to academic collaboration following a courtesy visit by the management of the NFLV to the university.

The visit took place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos. The delegation was led by the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NFLV, Professor Samuel Oladipo Kolawole, who said the engagement was aimed at strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding between the two institutions.

Professor Kolawole commended the LASU management for its longstanding support to the French Language Village, particularly in facilitating the promotion of seven NFLV staff members to the professional cadre. He also described LASU as having one of the best French Departments in Nigeria.

Discussions at the meeting focused on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both institutions following the expiration of the previous agreement.

In her response, the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sustaining the partnership. She assured the visitors of LASU’s readiness to renew the MoU and expressed confidence that the collaboration would continue to enhance academic growth and productivity for both institutions.
