The Lagos State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips officially kicked off activities marking the 2026 National Police Day, combining community health initiatives with environmental cleanliness.
The opening day featured a comprehensive sanitation exercise across all fourteen Area Commands in the state, aimed at promoting a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment.
Simultaneously, a free medical outreach was held at the bustling Computer Village in Ikeja, offering residents and passers-by a wide range of healthcare services, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, Hepatitis B and C testing, retroviral screening, eye examinations, medical counselling, health talks, and free drug administration.
CP Tijani Fatai highlighted that the initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to community engagement, public health, and people-centred policing.
“These activities are not just about enforcement; they are about partnership, trust, and proactive service to our communities,” he said.
Residents who benefited from the exercise expressed appreciation for the Command’s proactive approach, noting that the combination of accessible healthcare and sanitation efforts strengthens the bond between the police and the public.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its dedication to service, community partnership, and the values of people-focused policing, as activities for the 2026 National Police Day continue across the state.
