The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Lagos State Sector Command has been declared the overall best-performing Sector Command in the country in the 2024 Annual Command Assessment.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat, also emerged 1st nationwide among all Sector Commanders for outstanding leadership and operational excellence during the assessment year.
The results were formally announced during the Fourth Quarter Strategy Session held at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja, where the Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, mni, FCA, FCTA, CPFA, FCILT, commended all commanding officers for their roles in advancing the Corps’ safety mandate.
Mohammed charged senior officers across the Federation to intensify operational efforts as the year draws to a close. He stressed the need for heightened visibility, strict enforcement, and uncompromising discipline to ensure safer roads, especially during the high-risk festive period.
“The final stretch of the year requires measurable action. We must elevate performance, strengthen enforcement, and remain focused on saving lives,” the Corps Marshal said.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the Lagos Command, Corps Commander Hamzat expressed gratitude to the Corps Marshal for the recognition. He dedicated the feat to officers and men of the Lagos Sector Command, describing the achievement as a product of teamwork, professionalism, and unwavering commitment.
He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to consolidate its leadership position through enhanced public enlightenment, strategic stakeholder collaboration, and sustained enforcement targeted at reducing traffic crashes and fatalities across Lagos State.
The Lagos Sector Command restated its commitment to advancing FRSC’s core mandate of promoting safer road use, protecting lives and property, and fostering responsible driving culture among road users.
