FirstBank to Host Nigeria Economic Outlook 2026, Lead Conversation on Economic Growth

FirstBank of Nigeria Limited has announced plans to host its annual Nigeria Economic Outlook 2026 on Tuesday, January 6, as part of efforts to provide insights into the country’s economic direction in the new year.

The session, themed “The Great Calibration: Mastering Resilience in an Era of Asynchronous Growth,” is designed to equip customers and stakeholders with expert perspectives on prevailing economic realities and strategies for navigating Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.

Nigeria Economic Outlook is a customer-focused annual forum through which FirstBank reviews economic performance over the preceding year and offers projections for the year ahead.

The 2026 edition will examine Nigeria’s economic landscape in 2025, present an outlook for 2026, and analyse global and domestic trends and their implications for the nation’s economy.

Commenting ahead of the event, the Acting Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications at FirstBank, Olayinka Ijabiyi, said the initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to supporting Nigerian businesses and individuals.

She noted that the forum will provide customers and stakeholders with practical insights and expert recommendations to help them make informed decisions and thrive amid economic uncertainties in 2026.

The event will feature a keynote address by Yemi Kale, Group Chief Economist and Managing Director, Research and Trade Intelligence at Afreximbank.

A high-level panel discussion will follow, with participation from Olusegun Zaccheaus, Chief Economist at PwC; Francis Anatogu, Chief Executive Officer of Transaharan; Professor Bongo Adi of Lagos Business School; Niyi Yusuf, Managing Partner at Verraki; Cheta Nwanze, Lead Partner at SBM Intelligence; Osahon Ogieva, Deputy Managing Director, FirstBank Ghana; Ayokunle Ojo, Head of Treasury Sales and Derivatives Marketing, FirstBank; and Laura Fisayo-Kolawole, Head of Equities and Alternative Solutions at First Asset Management.
