The Federal Government has inaugurated the Board of the Universal Service Provision Fund, USPF to strengthen digital inclusion and expand access to telecommunications services across underserved communities in Nigeria.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel, was attended by key stakeholders in the communications sector, including the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, who also chairs the USPF Board.
Others present were the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Aminu Maida; Chairman of the NCC Board and Vice Chairman of the USPF Board, Idris Olorunnimbe; Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Abraham Oshadami; and Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama, both members of the USPF Board.
The inauguration marks a renewed push by the government to leverage the USPF platform to drive connectivity, bridge the digital divide, and support socio-economic development through improved access to digital infrastructure nationwide.
